Find and Serve a Need Jesus taught us that the essence of the Old Testament Law is to love God and to love our neighbour. Our calling as followers of Christ is to be true allies to our friends and neighbours on our campuses. A powerful way to connect with others is to be intentional about meeting their felt needs, meeting them where they are in their life journey. In another article, we discussed the importance of knowing the landscape of your campus, of knowing the interests and concerns of your fellow students. Once you know your campus, it won't be difficult to brainstorm what are their most pressing needs and heartfelt questions. Spend some time with others who are passionate about moving your campus thinking through how you might love your classmates by meeting those needs. As Christians, we are in a unique position to help students' with their emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs. Serving our friends and neighbors can take many forms, most certainly in our personal relationships and conversations. But as you seek to move your campus, it is also important to be intentional about serving in the context of groups, both large and small. It may be through organizing a group to volunteer with a local charity. It may be leading a small group study of the Bible or another book. Perhaps it will be organizing a weekly social outing. Maybe you could invite a leading Christian thinker to give a lecture on a question of spiritual significance. As you think about how to meet the needs of your campus, consider some of the common needs listed below as a starting point. Meeting Physical and Emotional Needs
Meeting Social Needs
Meeting Intellectual Needs
Meeting Spiritual Needs
